Jurong
A Strategic Liquid-Bulk & Industrial Logistics Hub at the Heart of Asia-Pacific Trade

Strategic Location and Market Role
Singapore’s western waterfront — and Jurong Port in particular — is uniquely positioned on major east–west shipping lanes that connect Asia with Europe, the Middle East and Africa. For market participants seeking fast vessel turnaround, flexible storage, and integrated access to Asia’s refining and petrochemical markets, JPTT delivers a secure platform for both short-term trading activity and long-term inventory strategies. The terminal’s proximity to industrial consumers and major traders reduces inland logistics touchpoints and accelerates time-to-market for finished fuels, feedstocks and specialty chemicals.

Infrastructure, Capacity & Berthing Capabilities
JPTT was developed with scale and operational resilience in mind. The terminal now offers approximately 580,000 m³ of storage capacity across multiple tank farms and is supported by four deep-water berths with alongside drafts of up to 17.6 metres — enabling vessel calls by very large product tankers and tankers up to ~180,000 DWT. This storage-to-berth ratio and robust pumping architecture are engineered to minimize waiting time, maximize throughput, and support large parcel movements that are common in international energy trading.
Joint-Venture Expertise & Recent Expansion
JPTT is the result of a strategic industry partnership, operated as a joint venture between Jurong Port and Advario (formerly Oiltanking).
Combining Jurong Port’s local operating knowledge and port-centric ecosystem with Advario’s global terminal management expertise has allowed the terminal to scale rapidly and tailor services to market needs.
The successful completion of Phase-2 expansion increased the terminal’s capacity and service flexibility, reinforcing Singapore’s competitiveness for product storage, blending and ship-to-ship operations.
Technical Capabilities & Value-Added Services
JPTT provides a broad slate of technical services designed for modern liquid-bulk commerce: high-throughput ship loading and discharge, inter-tank and inter-terminal pipeline transfers, barge operations, additivation and blending, heated tank storage, in-tank circulation and quality management.
Automated monitoring systems and digital interfaces deliver real-time visibility over tank levels, flows and product quality — enabling precise custody handling and rapid commercial decision-making.
These capabilities support a wide product range, from clean petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel) to fuel oil, petrochemical feedstocks and specialty blends.
Integration with Jurong Island & Regional Supply Chains
Safety, Compliance & Environmental Stewardship
As part of Singapore’s tightly regulated energy sector, JPTT adheres to rigorous international standards for process safety, environmental protection and emergency response. The terminal is equipped with advanced fire-suppression systems, secondary containment, vapor recovery and routine integrity testing, measures that protect personnel, local communities, and sensitive marine environments. In parallel, Jurong Port has invested in sustainability initiatives from large rooftop solar installations to participation in future-fuel trials reflecting a proactive stance on emissions reduction and cleaner energy solutions.

- Next-Generation Fuel Innovation — Jurong and its industrial cluster are leading experiments with next-generation bunker fuels and low-carbon feedstocks.
- Strategic Testbed Role — Singapore’s broader programme for ammonia bunkering, LNG infrastructure, and low/zero-carbon power positions Jurong Island as a testbed for fuel transition projects.
Future Fuels and Innovation Roadmap
- Dual Focus on Safety and Commerce — These initiatives balance operational safety while creating new commercial offerings for shipowners and traders seeking lower-emissions alternatives.
- Future-Ready Infrastructure — JPTT’s connectivity and technical versatility position it to support evolving storage and bunkering requirements as maritime and energy sectors decarbonize.
